I checked the following the forum post:
I can see the french language file, but how I turn it on? and how do I make it take effect?
I can see all the fields already translated into french… But I am using the application form shortcode, [wp_eMember_registration].. But when the french language flag, on the top selectd, I want it to show me the application form in French..
Thanks for a Great Plugin..Overall….any feedback is greatly appreciated?
October 4, 2012 at 1:51 am #50008adminKeymasterGo to eMember settings and choose the “French” language from the eMember language option. This will show all the user visible messages in French language.
Now, multilingual integration is not straight forward unfortunately. Please have a look at the following discussions:

October 4, 2012 at 11:59 pm #50009altitudeinfosysMemberThank you so much Admin..
I went through the posts, and it works now..
I am using WPML… just wanted to add, that I had to rename the English language file, from Eng.php to en.php, in order for it to work…. Just thought of sharing that with the other members..
Here is the my other question, I research the forum, and I coulnd’t find an answer…
How do we translate the descriptions of the custom variable? is that possible? Please let me know…
For example I have Fax, and Application Type, as custom variables, and I want to translate them, to French… Now using WPML and the language provided files, everything was translated correctly, except my only 2 custom field descriptions.
Any assistance, is greatly appreciated..
Awesome forum, and great info…
October 5, 2012 at 6:23 am #50010adminKeymasterYou type in the custom field info yourself so you can type it in any language you like. You are having trouble entering the custom field details in french language?
October 5, 2012 at 11:48 pm #50011altitudeinfosysMemberYes…My question let’s say that I have a custom field, called Application Type, and another one called Fax..
Those fields appear perfectly within the english version of the registration form page…
Now let’s say the user clicks on the french version of the page.. All the fields such as username and password, first name, last name. etc…show in french, except these 2 custom fields…
How can I translate their description?
So for fax says whatever the name in french, and application type, it says what’s equivalent in french, like the rest of the registration form?
October 7, 2012 at 12:06 am #50012adminKeymasterWe have made a slight change so it outputs the custom field data using I18N format. I think this will allow the WPML plugin to translate those text dynamically. I have sent you an email with an update. Check it out.
October 9, 2012 at 6:16 am #50013altitudeinfosysMemberThank you so much for the update..
But now the translation is not working at all…
When I click on the french version, the english version of the application form, appears but not the french version..
before the update, the french version appears for all fields, except the custom fields.
Anything I am doing wrong?
DO I need to apply some code changes, in your post such as:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/multilanguage-support/page/3
When I did that before updating, it worked except the custom fields.
Thanks again, for your help, and I appreciate the great support..
October 10, 2012 at 1:01 am #50014adminKeymasterYes, you will need to apply that tweak on the updated version that I sent you too.
October 10, 2012 at 5:28 am #50015altitudeinfosysMemberThanks again..I tried it again, and I applied the update as you asked me, along with the tweak on your previous post, now the entire form, is translating fine, except the custom fields description still showing in English.
