No, google won’t read the protected content. You will be violating Google’s policy if you let google index your protected content/article that is not oepn to everyone for free. So you want to be very careful when you are trying to do something similar.

Google’s first click free is the only feature that you can use to let them index your protected content but you have to let visitors from google read that content for free. Read this documentation to learn more:
