Hi,
We are currently using eMember and would like to implement discount codes for membership purchases – is this possible within eMember or do I have to incorporate eStore – I’m assuming that with eStore this works as I saw eStore-related questions being answered? if I have to get eStore, is it difficult to set up? We are more or less happy with the functionality of eMember in general and currently don’t have need for more functionality other than the discount coupons (and maybe paypal alternatives).
..and I forgot to say this – we really love the way currently the membership registration only happens after purchase. Currently we have a process whereby an innocent-looking button just takes them to paypal, and we believe this has resulted in a lot of our sales in the current short attention span culture. Would integrating eStore change this flow? We would only want a basic page where a code can be input, with a “buy”-button, and all the registration for the membership to happen after the purchase, like with eMember.
You will need to use WP eStore if you want to using coupon or discount codes.
The membership payment flow will work exactly the same way with eStore so you don’t lose anything. Visitors will go to the “Join us” page, add items to the cart then apply discount (if they want to) and do a checkout.
There is a video tutorial in the following documentation that shows you how to set it up and how it works:
