I am working on a project for a client who is trying to get memberships working with the Verotel payment gateway system. She purchased the WP Payment Gateway Bundle to assist in getting Verotel to work with her site.
In the instructions for the Bundle, it shows how to set things up using Verotel’s Flex Pay system. This seems to work fine for the store part of the site selling downloads. But the membership system for Verotel does not seem to integrate in any way. If you follow the instructions on Verotel’s site for memberships, it ends up creating its own UNIX htaccess and htpwd files (through a script they set up). From there you ostensibly put your membership content in a specific directory — which then uses standard UNIX directory accessibility. This clearly doesn’t work with the eMember software.
While I am requesting help from the support at Verotel over this issue, I am wondering if anyone has dealt with setting up Verotel as a gateway for their membership — or has knowledge or suggestions on how it can be done? I certainly appreciate any help I can get at this point!
Thanks ahead of time to anyone who answers this post!

July 12, 2012 at 12:44 am #47221adminKeymasterHi, let me clear something first to eliminate any confusion… You are using the following plugins together right?
– WP eStore with payment gateway bundle for verotel gateway
– WP eMember
Meaning, you want your users to pay via Verotel to become a member on your site (managed by eMember plugin)?
The reason I am asking the above question is because you mention the following:
membership system for Verotel does not seem to integrate in any way
We do not integrate (or say we do) with any kind of Verotel membership system (I don’t know if Verotel has some kind of membership system either).
Lets say you are integrating with eMember… then my next question to you would be the following:
Have you watched the video on the following documentation page to understand how an eStore product can be linked to a membership payment?

Before I started working with my client, she had configured her website to work according to instructions on the Verotel website. Part of their instructions involve configuring things on their site for handling memberships — which uses a script that manages UNIX protected directories. Having set things up to work through that system bypassed the Flex Pay system, which is clearly needed to properly work with the way the plugins were designed to work.
In any case the video shows the proper way of using the system for memberships. Hopefully if anyone else accidentally tries to do things the way she originally did — and ends up having problems — they can see this post before they spend a lot of time trying to figure out what is wrong.
Thanks again for your assistance!
