Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › eMember Form Builder: select field defaulting to filled it needs to be blank
Hi,
I wonder if you can help me?
In Form Builder I have two required select box fields:
1) Title with a list of prefixes; and
2) a Yes/No/Not Applicable dropdown option.
Currently I can have them default to Mr or Yes, but having these causes the required fields to be automatically accepted as answered. Is there any way to have these default to blank (not filled in)? What I would like to do is have a ‘Please select your Title’ in the same way that ‘Password’ and ‘Re-type password’ are in the field but not accepted for the answer.
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Ken
You would need to have an empty option as your first one then make it a required field. That will force the user to select one of the options from the dropdown before they can submit.
