I have a custom form built for extended profile fields.
Problem occurs in the Admin area working on the form.
Start to scroll down to a field I want to edit, and the form scrolls all the way down to the bottom of the form – I can’t stop it anywhere in the middle of the form.
Same thing happens if I try to move up the form from the bottom – scrolls all the way to the top with no way to stop it anywhere in the middle.
If I just click on the “down” arrow or “up” arrow top or bottom of the scroll bar, it will move one click at a time for about 2 clicks, then the 3rd time scrolls all the way to the other end of the form.
Very strange. The form worked fine while creating it and then doing some editing. Then one day I went back to it, and this behavior started.
Any ideas?
March 18, 2017 at 12:04 am #75332adminKeymasterThat is a little weird. If you create a new custom form for a test level with just a few fields, does the same thing happen when you edit that new form?
I want to determine if this is an issue with that specific custom form or a general issue on the site (which could be coming from a conflict).
March 20, 2017 at 1:10 pm #75333markbeasleyMemberThe custom form I have now that is having this issue, membership level is set simply as “Generic”.
Created a new form, Test Form, for Generic membership level.
When I click on the “Create Form” button, the page refreshes with the default entry in the “Name the form” field – “Enter form name here”.
The new Test Form is not created, and does not show up in the Form List.
When I choose a membership level I had already created, “Basic”, the form is created.
Edited the Test Form, adding enough fields so that I would have to scroll to get to the bottom of the list of fields. Works fine until I save it. Then go back to the Form List, select it for editing, and get the same weird behavior. It starts to scroll normally, then at some point goes all the way to the end. Start to move up the form, scrolls all the way to the top.
I created another form, Test Form 2, to add just a few custom fields, even though not having enough fields to need to scroll kind of defeats the purpose of testing scrolling. Form Builder would not create a new form using either “Generic” or the “Basic” level I had just used to create the first Test Form.
I tried again, using a different membership level I had created and decided not to use. The Test Form 2 was created this time.
Added just one custom field, scrolling worked fine. Went to the top, and started expanding the field properties one by one, to lengthen the page (require a longer scroll). After I expanded the top 3 default fields, extending the page by just that much, scrolling started zooming all the way to the bottom again.
I can kind of understand that you would only want one form associated with a particular membership level, and not be able to create two using the same level. So that’s not really a problem.
The scrolling issue is a problem, as my main custom form is rather lengthy, and not being able to edit anywhere in the middle of it is frustrating.
It seems if the edit page view gets to a certain length, the scrolling bug takes over.
March 21, 2017 at 6:45 am #75334adminKeymasterI will take a look inside your site. I have sent you an email for it.
March 23, 2017 at 12:11 pm #75335markbeasleyMemberIt appears one of the JS files needed tweaking.
Thanks to the support team here for jumping on the issue and fixing it!
