I have eMember set up so that Multiple Memberships are enabled and when primary level expires, it sets the Primary to one of the non-expired secondary levels. The lowest membership level we have is a free user account that does not expire, then we have 2 paid membership levels (one is a one-time payment option that expires after one month and the other is a reoccurring payment option).

When the one time payment level expires the member is down-graded to the free user account, but eMember is not sending the member an email saying that his/her account has expired.

Am I missing something in the settings?

Did you have the “Enable Debug” option checked in the eMember setting by any chance so we can look at the debug file content?

What version of eMember plugin are you using?

I did not have that checked but I do now. I am running v7.9.6.

I will let the membership expire again with debug enabled.

Looks like since the account gets changed to the next level… which is the free user account, it is never registered as expired. I need to notify members somehow that the paid account has lapsed and they need to pay again. Is there an option for this?

I see.. please use the following option in that case.

    Email Before the Account Expires

Set the number of days to maybe 3 so your member gets an expiry notification 3 days before the account gets expired. This way you are not reliant on that *after account expiry* email (which in your case is not triggering because you are moving them to the free member level).
