eMember eStore – Prevent logged in but expired members from checking out

I want expired members to be able to easily log in and then be redirected to a renew page which I have working fine using the eStore/eMember settings, BUT I do not want expired members to be able to checkout for anything EXCEPT their renewal purchase which I offer as either a Buy Now button or Subscribe button.

As it is, someone is allowed to login as expired and ignore the renewal page and buy products.

What you can do is, when a membership is expired; set their membership level to one that only allows them access to the page, with the renewal buttons.

You’d “downgrade” the member to something like the “limbo” level. Then, set the “Membership Level –> Redirect After Login” to the renewal page, if they are of the “limbo” level… which should be the only page that level can access.
