Hi,
I have both eMember and eStore plugins. I have a dilemma about how to approach online sales on my site and I was hoping you could better help me understand eMember/eStore and their capabilities.
I have am developing a site that will offer a web service. Clients will pay to have their information hosted on a custom built site. I would like the clients to be able to visit a gallery on my store front and choose which style of site they would like their information hosted on.
However, I would like to avoid charging for the sites directly itself. I would rather charge for a subscription which comes with a free site. I would also like my subscribers to attain ‘Full Member’ status on my site (rather than a free member) upon purchasing my service. Subscriptions will cost X during the first year and Y during the second.
Question: Can I use the subscription (or another option between eMember and eStore) in a gallery type setting where a client visits the gallery, selects a specific site design, pays, gains their subscription and becomes a full member of my site for one year with a recurring charge that decreases the second year?
I hope this is clear. Please let me know if you need more information and thank you for your help.

You can mostly achieve what you want with eStore and eMember.
For instance you can configure your products as subscription items and specify the membership level for each product and also specify a trial period to represent your first year cost.
The limitation however is that you will only be able to specify a “one-off” cost for the trial period, eg, say $30 for 1st year then followed by a recurring amount. You can’t specify a recurring amount during the trial period of say $x/month followed by another recurring amount of $y/month the year after (PayPal doesn’t allow that).
Please see this regarding eStore subscription:
