I followed the directions for integrating Aweber with the plugin via your API to integrate with my sites registration form.
I did a test sign up on my site for free membership to see if I received the opt-in email ok and I do, the thing is I’m getting the username and password email sent to me from eMember before I have received the confirmation email back from Aweber.
I know this is simple but I just can’t seem to get my head around what should be a simple process. Would you mind taking a look? If so can I send login details to you privately?
July 4, 2012 at 10:32 pm #46877LifeshortMemberMore Details, Is This How It’s Supposed To Work????:
I click on “Join Now” for Free Content membership
It takes me to Registration page, I enter name & email address & click Register
A new eMember Registration page appears stating “check your email and follow the link to complete registration”
1st Email arrives, Complete your registration from eMember (not Aweber optin)
I click on the “Please complete your registration etc..” eMember email (no Aweber email as yet)
This takes me to a new Registration page again, opening in a new tab with my name, email & membership level pre-entered, so I enter a username & password & click Register
This takes me back to Registration page again, saying Registration Complete! Please Login
I check my email account, 2 emails are there, one has my new username and password from eMember Registration, the other is my optin from Aweber asking to confirm by clicking the link
I click the Aweber confirmation link which then redirects me to the Free Content page asking me to login, so when I do I’m in the free membership area
I then notice a 4th email in my email account is Welcoming me and that I have successfully signed up
It seems that the emails are out of sequence in that the Aweber email with the username & password is being sent too early
Surely this allows access to the Free Content without being added to the email list
By the way there are now 4 tabs opened to just get to the Free Content
PS. I’m UK based it’s 23:30 and going to bed now…..! Will check your response in the morning.

The first thing you need to know is that the AWeber signup has got nothing to do with the usual workflow of eMember plugin. The following documentation explains the registration flow of events that you can expect (there are a few different variations that you can use):

Now, the AWeber list signup is an optional step. If you use it then it adds two emails from AWeber (this is not dependent on anything):
1) AWeber will ask the user to confirm the list signup
2) Once the user confirms, AWeber will send a confirmation email
The above is just how AWeber works and there is no way around it.
