eMember – Delete Member to Change Username?

I need to change an eMember’s username. In a related post, jit50 mentions changing the db table, but our site is also integrated with bbPress (and WP users in general), so that seems more complicated, no?

jit50 also mentions deleting the member and creating a new member as a more approved of method. How would this deletion process work? Delete the eMember member, then delete the WP user? Can the bbPress postings by this user (if there are any) get re-assigned to the new user’s account?

The emember’s side is easy so don’t worry about that part. I just don’t know how the BBPress side will work. Ask the BBPress guys how they handle username change.

My recommendation would be to deal with this from WordPress and BBPress side first. Then you can delete the old record from eMember and import the new user into eMember.
