Hi, I wonder if you can help me?
I am beginning to get to grips with the eMember and eStore addons we have recently purchased for our charity website and am very pleased with the outcome, but am coming a bit unstuck when it comes to setting up the email responses.
Our secretary has certain requirements to be listed in the emails that are being sent to him when a new member pays for their subscription. He requires the following information to be included in the email:
Title (all the various options / other!)
Forename/s
Surname
Postal Address
Postcode
Email Address
Telephone
and there is the need to indicate whether and applicant is able / willing to Gift Aid their subscription.
I have looked through the extra short codes but have not been successful in producing a working email that fits the bill. Am I missing something obvious or am I not able to add custom {brace_text} for the fields I require?
Kind regards,
Ken

For eMember, the email Tags are:

For eStore, the email Tags (look under the Available Email Merge Tags section) are:

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated.
Sorry, yes it’s tags, thanks for the correction – I would have found the answers if only I’d used the correct terminology! I’ve now copied these across to a text document for future reference.
It’s great that there are all these extra options with which we can customize the other email forms too, it’s just a shame that the custom fields and title aren’t among them. Looks like I’ll have to resort to sending these details after the member has completed registration, not a biggie, but it would have been great if this was part of the package.
Once again, thanks for your speedy response, this alone is worth the purchase!
Kind regards,
Ken

For custom fields, try something like:
{Custom1}
{Custom Field Name With Spaces}

Had a very well deserved break for a late lunch.
I’m just setting this up now and will give it a whirl.

October 4, 2017 at 4:32 pm #76529kencopeSpectatorHello again,
I’m very pleased to say I now have the membership emails working with two new custom fields. The first one is a new dropdown Title field that includes the likes of ‘Revd’ and the Gift Aid Subscription worked with a Dropdown of yes or no. After some testing the ones that work are:
Title: {Title}
Gift Aid Subscription: {GiftAid}
I had to remove spaces from the original ‘Gift Aid Subscription’ and ‘Gift Aid’ Field Names, so if anyone is looking for an answer to using Custom Fields and their testing isnt producing the required result I suggest you try this.
Thanks for all your help.
Kind regards,
Ken
