WP 3.0 & eMember Version v5.4.0 & Thesis (also store and affiliate and bbpress)
I’m creating a free membership level (called welcome level) that should have access to the “Free Videos” Page which is /free-content/. Free Content is protected in the general protections, and checked as allowed at the welcome level. Yet, my free member when logged in can not access any content including that page.
(You can ignore that the free videos page does not have a sidebar, I was using a “no sidebar” template on that page, which I’ve since turned off (back to default) as well.
Here’s a 3 minute video of what the issue looks like. Its a little hard to read but it is high def so it can go to full screen:

I was thinking that it may have been a theme issue so I tested it on twentyten and it does not work there either.
The same access issues apply to higher levels granted more permissions but I figured it was best to work on one level at a time!
Can anyone tell me what I’m missing?
Kimberly
Hi, you have the global access to these content protected for the “welcome level”. Go to the membership level menu and look under the “Access To” field. See the crosses next to the posts, pages etc for the welcome email? This means you have turned off access to these content for this membership level globally.
The “Access To” fields give you a quick option protect content for a particular membership level globally without having to reverse all the selective protection that you have done in the “Manage Content Protection” menu. In your case you should have this options checked.
That was certainly it. I misunderstood those settings as working WITH selective settings in the other page. Thank you!
