Hi:
I have searched the forum but could not find the answer so I need your advice and help. I want double optin for my MailChimp List called “Digital Entrepreneurs Network”. Since all membership levels must go to this one list only, I have set it up in Settings page of eMember under Autoresponder settings, and also ticked the Double Optin box.
My confusion is with regard to the process flow when double optin of MailChimp is involved. Is that after payment when the member comes to the registration page and gives his email, first name and last name and chooses to register that his details also go to the mailchimp list?
In that case would he get two separate emails. One with the registration link to click for membership registration and another one sent by MailChimp for asking him to click the MailChimp list optin?
Is it possible for a single confirmation link can both subscribe to my membership site and to the double optin of MailChimp?
Have I understood the process correctly regarding when the MailChimp optin takes place (at membership registration time)?
I am very confused on the double optin flow of mailchimp and the membership susbscription flow of my eMember and how they tandem.
Could you please advice and guide me on this. And if there is already a video or article on this do please point me to it.
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
Shobha Ponnappa

No, it can’t be one email. The mailchimp’s opt-in confirmation email comes from their system whenever someone is added to the list. The standard registration email of emember comes from eMember plugin (regardless of any autoresponder usage).
The member registers as it is explained here:

If you enable an autoresponder signup, then the user gets added to the specified list. If you are using double opt-in then the autoresponder provider sends a confirmation from their system. This autoresponder part is ONLY for the list signup. This does not affect the standard member registration of the plugin.
