Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere before, but I can’t seem to find the answer. I need to able to let users choose more than one option for a couple of questions on the registration form. For example question one will have option 1, option 2 and option 3 – I need them to be able to choose either just option 1 or option 1 and 3. I can’t seem to get this to work with the drop-down or checkbox options. Am I missing something?
February 14, 2013 at 12:09 am #53824wpCommerceModeratorHi, not sure if it will help but you can set up a drop-down option with 3 answers for each question. For example:
Question 1
Field Name my_custom_question1
Field Type Dropdown List
Extra Field Info 1=>answer1,2=>answer2,3=>answer3
Display Order 1Question 2
Field Name my_custom_question2
Field Type Dropdown List
Extra Field Info 1=>answer1,2=>answer2,3=>answer3
Display Order 1Question 3
Field Name my_custom_question3
Field Type Dropdown List
Extra Field Info 1=>answer1,2=>answer2,3=>answer3
Display Order 1And so on.
If you really need your customer to select a particular question you can set it to “Required” (the form can’t be submitted until they select that one). Otherwise they are optional anyway.
Here is the reference to our documentation:
February 14, 2013 at 3:53 am #53825creative5designsMemberThanks for responding. I do understand the info above, but I need them to be able to select more than one answer for the question. For example:
For the question: Favorite Pet?
The choices could be: cat, dog, bird, fish
I’d like them to be able to select either just one answer (i.e. cat) or multiple answers (i.e. cat, dog, bird)
Is this possible?
February 15, 2013 at 2:37 am #53826adminKeymasterI see… you need a group of checkboxes for one field. We don’t have an option for that. We are currently working on creating an addon that allows a user to configure more robust custom fields for registration. Once that addon is complete, we should be able to handle this scenario.
February 19, 2013 at 3:35 am #53827creative5designsMemberThanks for the info. Any ideas as to when the add-on would be available?
February 19, 2013 at 11:40 pm #53828adminKeymasterWe are hoping that it will be complete in 2 weeks.
Update: This eMember addon is now ready:
