I’m wondering how I can change the wording that is coming up under my posts on a category page. When I have previously created a blog page, the line that prompts someone to login appears below every post, however on this category page, the line below the post is instead: “You do not have permission to view this content.” even if I’m not logged in at all. Can you help me change this? Here’s an example: [http://www.roaringforkllc.com/category/this-week/]
My client also wants to know if it’s really necessary to logout after changing your password. He feels it’s unprofessional, and I’m wondering what to tell him?
Last thing: Is there currently a way to make the password displayed on the user profile? I saw an old post about this, but this line seems to have moved to a different php file, and when I attempted to change the line to input=”text” it made the password row disappear altogether.
Thank you for your help,
Beth
May 3, 2013 at 1:45 am #55408adminKeymasterHi Beth, I am pretty sure you have protected that category too. When you protect a category from the manage content protection menu, it will protect all the products that are under that category.
This post is a good read to see where you are:
You can customize any messages displayed by the plugin using this technique:
The answer to your password related questions are “better security”. Showing the password field is not really a good option. eMember stores the password in an encrypted format so there is no way to know way to retrieve and show the password (this is the best practice when it comes to handling user passwords). It is better to utilize the “retype/confirm password” feature so the user has to type it in twice to make sure there is no mistake.

It is protecting the content, however it is displaying the wrong message. I works correctly if I create a general blog page, and will display “Please login” message after each post, however if on a category page, it displays, “You don’t have permission” message even if the person is not logged in. I would only want it to display this message if the person is actually logged in and doesn’t have access to that content. I need it to prompt the person to login to see the content.
Please see the difference between: [http://www.roaringforkllc.com/blog]

May 7, 2013 at 2:59 am #55410adminKeymasterI see what you mean. We have updated the plugin code so in a category page, it will show the “Please login….” message on a post that is protected. I have sent you an email with an update. This change will be added to the plugin core in the next version.
