eMember – Bulk upgrade from free to paid membership

Hi.

I have wordpress 3.4 with emember 7.9.8.1.

I want to upgrade all members with free membership to a paid membership for free without having to do it manually one by one. I have tried the autoupgrade with 1 day, yesterday but it has not worked yet. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I’d have to check the code but it could be that the fact you have tried setting the auto-upgrade configuration AFTER these people had already signed up as members which might be preventing the auto upgrade scenario from working in your case.

An alternative thing you can do is to do a bulk modification of the data in the relevant DB table using phpMyAdmin.

In your case you would need to change the “membership_level” field values for each member in the “wp_wp_eMember_members_tbl” table.

This can easily be done by following the instructions in this video tutorial which describes how you can use phpMyAdmin to make bulk changes to data in the DB:
