Tagged: bbpress, integration, lockdown, membership
Hi, I have integrated bbpress with eMember as per your instructions. My objective is to ensure that only members of two levels on my site i.e. Silver level(id=4) and Gold Level(id=5)are able to see or use the forum. So I am trying to see if lockdown of the forum will work so that only these two level members can use the forum.
I have two doubts here:
1. Can I set it up so these two levels can use the forum but not others? Will it work for just 2 levels of members?
2. In case I can thus set it up, should I give the URL as http://example.com/forums/ and in that case will it lock all the URLs that begin with this path (instead of naming every single URL in the forum)/?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Shobha Ponnappa
Read the help text below the “site lockdown” feature field. It will tell you how you can use the different options of this feature and use URL patters to block/unblock groups of pages.
You will most likely use the “Enable Specific Page Lockdown” option so read the help text for that field.
First, protect the whole forum for the membership level in question. This will make it so ONLY the membership levels you specify will be able to read the posts from those forums. The following documentation should be helpful (option 1):
Then on top of that, you can enable the lockdown option for the forum pages. This way, non-members can’t even see anything in those forum URLs.
