Hi There,
Thanks for your plugin we have configured it for a Video site and integrated it with Mailchimp to alert users of their new video content. This is working great!
Once small glitch I’ve found to do with the Local Time Zone…
The UTC time of the server is “UTC time is 2013-01-02 23:18:55” my local time on the site is “Local time is 2013-01-03 10:18:55”.
So as you can see, I try to login on a new day (for me!) but the membership level isn’t upgraded yet because of the UTC time of the server (it’s still yesterday!)… In about 45mins it will upgrade but that will be 11am here. I’m hoping to have it upgraded at the Local Time set in WordPress.
Is this possible? Or are you aware of a workaround?
Thanks very much!!
Hi Felicity, All of your members/customers won’t be on the same timezone that you are in, so the best way to handle this is to have a 1 day buffer. Configure your autoresponder to send the notification 1 day after the auto upgrade is suppose to take place. This way no matter where the customer is located, he will always have access to the content.
With that said, you can also change the timezone value in the plugin if you really need that. This post will tell you how:
Thanks Admin! Good point about the different timezones… The auto responders are based on a particular time zone so I think I’d like to match them up and then the rest of the world can work around that. Thanks very much for the link that worked perfectly! Cheers!
