Before launching a site, I created a test run under a spare URL I had. Now that I gone ‘live’ with the site under the correct URL, when eMember sends out the verification email, it’s link refers to the old site URL. I’ve checked settings and they all refer to the new site. Are there setting elsewhere that may have carried across? I did originally copy files across on the new site, but then opted for a fresh re-load of eMember, but somehow it’s connecting to the old database and offering links from the old URL. Have also tried deleting and uploading the latest version of eMember, but the problem persists.
Any ideas?
Willis
1) Check your “Email Settings” menu to make sure you don’t have any hardcoded URL value of the old site.
2) Check your Pages/Forms Settings menu to make sure all the URL values have been updated to the new site’s URL.
I’ve check these and it doesn’t seem like the issue is there.
Where can I find where the database for eMember is defined in the website files. I believe the settings there may have the old database in, as when I try to add a test member using an specific email not previously used with this site but which was used on the old site, the system tells the email address is already taken – which means it must be still populating the other database. (This may have been caused by me original uploading the old website files and the loading a fresh copy of emember, as the load was not compete.)
Fixed it – it was my error. The was one extra link on the page I hadn’t noticed that was linking back to the old website.
All sorted now. Many thanks,
Willis
