Email text looks garbled (no line breaks)

I am working on the Purchase confirmation email.

This is what the Buyer Email Body looks like in Email settings:

In other emails I am able to insert the code to break the lines, but here it is constructed by {product_details} so I can’t do that….plus the download link is not a link.

Also, the line between “Dear…” and {product_details} doesn’t appear in the email for some reason!

This usually happens if you have another plugin or theme that is breaking the email filter functionality. Please do the following test to see if you are using a plugin that is breaking this:

Looks like the “Send Grid” plugin can’t handle HTML emails at the moment so it was messing up the email format. Setting the email format to text will solve the issue.
