Hi (and Help!) – I’ve set up a 30 day trial offer for my products.
I figured out (the hard way) that with subscriptions, the Transaction Results Display does not work on the Thank You page.
The problem is that emails are not going out either – to me, informing me of a sale, or to the customer with their link…
I tested with a straight purchase (no trial), and the emails work.
I run eStore on several site where the email works, and everything is set up the same way…
Help

December 3, 2010 at 7:04 pm #27028njevicSpectatorOk, I figured it out.
I can’t have a FREE trial with $0 now and the balance in full at the end of the trial period.
When I configure to charge anything greater than $0, then the links show up on the Thank You page and emails get sent.
So, is there any way to get this to work with a $0 trial?
Thanks, and sorry for all the posts…
Nick
December 3, 2010 at 11:14 pm #27029amin007ParticipantPayPal do not send the sale IPN until some money transaction happens. When you use a $0 trial no money gets transferred from one account to the other so no sale actually takes place at this point. In a month time when it does charge the recurring billing it will send the IPN for the sale which will go through the normal sale process.
Free trial is usually used to create a free membership account. In your situation I would create a $1 or a $0.01 trial period rather than a $0 trial.
December 5, 2010 at 7:06 pm #27030njevicSpectatorThanks, that’s what I did.
A related question. I kept the Product Price at $297.00, and set the subscription up for $0.97 trial and $296.00 in 30 days.
A sale went through and I received an email from eStore with the Subject Line: WP eStore – Payment Verification Failed!
The payment did go through and the customer got a product link on the Thank You page, but I did not get an eStore generated email notification, and it appears that the customer did not receive an email either; nor was the customer added to the customer log inside eStore.
Should the Product Price be set to $0.00, or should I make the price in 30 days $296.03?
Thanks,
Nick
December 5, 2010 at 11:44 pm #27031amin007ParticipantBecause this is a subscription product you can enter something like the following in the “price field”:
$0.97 trial and $296.00 in 30 days
Yes you can enter text value in the price field when configuring a subscription product because the plugin mainly uses the value from the subscription section to determine the price. When you add a textual price description like the one above it also tells the plugin that this is a subscription product so it does not check if the price value is less than the received amount. So either make the value in the “Price” field less than .97 or use a textual description and that will do the trick.
