Hi
I am having a few issues with this plugin. I am using manual submission only, as client does not wish to take payments online – just the orders. The problems I am having are:
1. Email is coming from wordpress@domain, even though I have UNCHECKED the “Use WordPress Mailing System”, and I have entered an alternative email address.
2. The orders do not update in the Stats section
3. Customers do not go into the Customers section
Additional questions,
1. Is is possible to remove a mandatory field from the “payment submission form”? I would like to remove Country, because all purchasers will be local.
2. I also purchased eMember so that it could be integrated with eStore. Basically, I would like repeat purchasers not to have to enter their contact details every time they order. Is this possible?

This is usually a good idea as a lot of people have a tendency to fill out the manual checkout forms and then don’t make the payment.
Anyway, after receiving several request, I have added the automatic customer database update option for manual checkout. All you need to do is check the “Automatically Update Customer & Products Database” option from the “manual checkout” section of the payment gateway section to use this feature.
Regarding the “Email is coming from WordPress” issue. Please enter the details in the following format in the “From Email Address” field of the settings menu:
Your Name <youremail@gmail.com>
I have made the “country” field optional in the new version of eStore as most manual checkout should be local anyway.
“I would like repeat purchasers not to have to enter their contact details every time they order. Is this possible?” – This is not something you can do at the moment but a good feature so I would be interested to add this feature in the future.
I will send you the updated version of eStore so you can use this option.
June 7, 2010 at 1:39 pm #21412nobsMemberHi Amin
Thank you so much for looking into these issues. Your advice fixed the email issue, thanks. Just a couple of questions.
I notice there is no longer a “success” message. I have tried specifying a return URL with a similar message (assuming this now effectively functioned as a “successful payment”) but have had no luck. So the customer couldn’t be sure that their details went through.
Am I able to remove the country field altogether, or will that cause an error when trying to submit to the database?
Is there anyway to view the customers address and phone number, as this doesn’t seem visible in the customer section? It would be really handy for this application, rather than having to rely on the email only.
Thanks for considering the repeat purchasers function. That would be great to have in the future
Thanks again for all your efforts.
June 7, 2010 at 2:05 pm #21413nobsMemberHi Amin, sorry just another question – the customer’s details are not being sent to mailchimp. Is this because there is no payment? Is there any way to get around this?
June 8, 2010 at 2:10 am #21414amin007Participant“I notice there is no longer a “success” message” – most users wanted me to remove the success message and simply redirect the customer to the “Thank You” page which will have the success message on that page. Remember, you can specify a separate “Thank You” page for your manual checkout (from the settings menu) and when a customer land on that page after hitting the “Confirm” button it means it’s a success. If it wasn’t a success they wouldn’t have been redirected there. It’s a valid request so I change the functionality to reflect that.
Yeah you can remove the country field. Just remove it following from the “eStore_shipping_details_view.php” file.
“the customer’s details are not being sent to mailchimp. Is this because there is no payment?” – yes, you are correct but I am going to add this as an option so people who don’t mind adding unconfirmed customers to the list can do so.

Thank you for your response. Is there anyway I can make these changes (with instruction)?
Also I wasn’t sure if you saw this question:
“Is there anyway to view the customers address and phone number, as this doesn’t seem visible in the customer section? It would be really handy for this application, rather than having to rely on the email only.”
Thanks again
June 10, 2010 at 1:43 am #21416amin007Participantyeah, are you after the remove country field change or the mailchimp option?
Customer’s address and phone number do not go to the database. Nobody ever asked for this as it’s in the email already. I can add these fields in (sounds like a good idea).
June 10, 2010 at 5:01 am #21417nobsMemberHi Amin
I managed to remove the country field, thank you.
What I would like to achieve myself is
1) some sort of order success message once the order has been submitted. If you could point me to where I could insert the instruction to return to a specific url after submission that would be great.
2) getting the information into mail chimp
3) ideally being able to reference the phone number & address details from the customer section.
I’m sorry if I’m asking too much, I just really would like to get this plugin working for the purpose (it’s so much nicer than another plugin I tried). I would be happy to pay for the customisations, if it’s outside the scope of the regular features.
June 11, 2010 at 1:50 am #21418amin007ParticipantNumber 1 and 2, I will add it as I had it on my WishList anyway. Number 3 is a bit of a bigger job as it requires changing of database structure. I will send you an email.
