Hi,
I just purchased WP Affiliate. My primary use is to provide an affiliate program for my optimize member site.
as a bonus I noticed that I can use it to track e-junkie sales. I have 2 ebooks I sell via e-junkie, but the sales pages are on a different website than my membership site. It sounds like the code just tracks the e-junkie thank you page and maybe I’m over thinking it.
I want my affiliates to sign up on my membership site using WP Affiliate and get commission for my membership site as well as my ebooks and I only have to look in one location to know how much to pay them each month.
Will this still work? does the integration with e-junkie bypass the need for multisite functionality or does WP Affiliate need to be installed on the site with the sales page too?
thanks
Aaron

WP Affiliate needs to be installed on each site, on which the actual sales are transacted.

yes, thanks I saw that too. My question stems from the e-junkie integration where it says it tracks the e-junkie thank you page which is hosted at e-junkie, not my website.
So would it work without installing wp affiliate on the other website because of how the integration works.?
thanks

December 27, 2014 at 11:19 pm #67649adminKeymasterThe plugin does some tracking when the user visits your site following an affiliate link. Later after the purchase, it will match with those tracking values to give commission. So as long as the flow of events is like the example given in the following documentation, it will work fine:
December 29, 2014 at 1:37 am #67650alebauerMemberOk, just to confirm, the plugin detects the visitor when they are both on the sales page and on the e-junkie thank you page? Right? and the plugin needs to be on the sales page website to work? and I need to install wp affiliate on both sites?
thanks

Yes
The common one or the product specific one will do. As long as the visitor is getting to that page after the payment. I think the product specific one will be better given you will have different products for different sites.

December 30, 2014 at 5:17 am #67654alebauerMemberHi, one other question.
I think I just realized that “multi-site” refers to sub domains of the same site,
whereas I actually have two different websites. I’ve already got everything set up and working, just that I now have e-junkie for two affiliate products and a membership product on a separate site using wp affiliate to track commissions. Can I install the plugin on the other website and have it somehow send info or link to the main website I’m using?
It sounded like I could use wp affiliate installed on both websites at first, but then reading through the above referenced articles it doesn’t sound like that is the case. That all the sales pages have sales buttons that link to 1 main page with the plugin install that tracks all the affiliate information. Is that correct?
I guess my other solution would be to move the sales pages to the same website as the membership portal/wp affiliate plugin?
December 31, 2014 at 12:24 am #67655adminKeymasterIf you have two different websites then it is totally okay for you to install the plugin on both those sites.
So lets say you have done everything for 1 site. Now do the same (everything) for the 2nd site also. you can do this for as many sites as you have.
