Hi,
Just purchased wp e-store and have installed it on backend webpage for testing. I made a live purchase of my ebook and payment goes through, purchase confirmation and seller’s notification emails also received. But there is no email for e-book download. Also, my e-book is in epub format – this format was not accepted so I had to zip file it to upload backend (is this procedure correct?)

When you edited the email body, for the email that gets sent to the buyer; did you remember to include the {product_link} mail tag?
Also, my e-book is in epub format β this format was not accepted
The plugin does not restrict the kinds of files that can be downloaded or uploaded. Please provide more information about the file. Specifically, how are you uploading it, whether or not the upload was successful, and if you are able to successfully use the Admin Functions to manually create a working download link.

“When you edited the email body, for the email that gets sent to the buyer; did you remember to include the {product_link} mail tag?
– Yes. The tag is there but the issue I am facing is that this email does not get sent out. On Buyer’s inbox, I only received purchase confirmation from Paypal. No email from Seller’s email to say Thank you – here is link to download.“The plugin does not restrict the kinds of files that can be downloaded or uploaded.
– To upload the file I entered Digital Contents Details >> Digital Product URL >> Upload File >> Select File >>. Message that comes back is “Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.” My epub file is 534KB, so I don’t think it is file size. It will upload once I zip the file though and I have ticked the box to make link downloadable.Hope this clarifies π

When you said, you received email, you maybe referring to the standard PayPal email that comes from PayPal’s server which should work. Our plugin will send the email (containing the download link) from your server which can get blocked. The following post has info on this:

– I tried to click Receive IPN Messages on Paypal account settings but it is asking me for a properly formatted URL to proceed/enable IPN notification. What URL would this be please?
– debug logging feature on wp store settings enabled π“When you said, you received email,
– Ah! Thank you. I searched my spam box and found the download link email there. I still can’t upload epub files, but sending out downloadable zip file works for now. Thank you, will just add a remark on website to have buyers check their Spam for product link.May 20, 2022 at 4:06 pm #84406wzpModeratorI still canβt upload epub files, but sending out downloadable zip file works for now.
The uploading method you described uses the WordPress file uploader. WordPress restricts the file types that you can upload:

The recommendation is to use FTP (aka Filezilla) to upload the product files, to your product file directory.- This reply was modified 2 years, 6 months ago by wzp.
