Hi,
I’m drop shipping items on my site and would like those whose products I sell be able to easily see what products of thiers have sold on my site, either via eStore or PayPal.
And/ or…automatically alert them when one of thier products sell.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
December 30, 2009 at 10:54 pm #16989Scott MunsonMemberActually if I could revise that……
Obviously I will have to notify the person whose product it is so they can ship it!
(would be great if this could be generated AUTOMATICALLY)
However…
some items will be digital downloads. So, with respect to those products the above question remains the same. (how can they be automatically notified/ how can they see thier sales)
I have multi-user set up in my PayP bussiness account – but this seems of very modest use!
Thanks!

However, most drop shipping companies have a method whereby they accept the payment notification (IPN) to be sent to one of their API/Script and they can do the drop shipping for that transaction.
WP eStore has a feature that allows you to send the payment notification (IPN) to a 3rd party URL or script. Simply use that feature and eStore will forward the instant payment notification (IPN) to this 3rd party script everytime a payment for a eStore product is completed.
Check the following settings:
WP eStore Settings -> 3rd Party Integration -> POST IPN to a 3rd Party Application

Thank you for your great support.
Yes I saw that option. I guess I’ll use it as a last resort. (This will really only be an issue if the product is a digital download.)
But two other thoughts:
1. If the merchant that I’m selling the digital product of has a server then the files can be hosted on thier server. Is there a way to have a ‘log’ file in that folder?
2. I guess there’s no way to accomplish the above requests by somehow using your affiliate plugin in conjunction with estore?
I see in each product there’s a ‘commision’ field. Is there a way (obviously I don’t know how the affiliate program works – I do know the basic concept though) of assigning a product ID to an affiliate member (in this case it would be a merchant) so at the very least they could log into thier account and see how many times that product sold – regardless of how the customer got to the product via the internet. ie: hacking it so it’s not just an affiliate plug.
Thanks so much!

Wondering if you might be able to give an answer to the following questions from the previous reply:

It should be very easy to notify the seller of his product sales. All you need to do is add a bit of code in the post payment handling script that emails to the email address where the money went to (the money obviously will go to the sellers account).
The affiliate plugin also tracks the product ID of the product that generated that commission (this information is only availabe through the admin dashboard though)
November 20, 2011 at 2:24 pm #16994StandFastMemberi want to implement drop shipping by using the affiliate module and only sending the commission amount to the seller.
does this make sense? If so can you point me to documentation on where and how to add code.
Thank You
November 20, 2011 at 10:40 pm #16995adminKeymasterThe affiliate platform plugin does not have any drop shipping option as that plugin does not handle the sale of a product (this plugin is used to track the referrals and commissions). Drop shipping is best done with the eCommerce plugin that is processing the payment of the actual sale. eStore has an option whereby you can tell it to forward the payment notification (IPN) to your drop shipper (this option would be your best bet).
