    when the customer buys the download from the site they can download from the link but when they get an email they get this message: The download link (see browser address bar) couldn’t be found in the wp_eStore database.

    The link is there in my product download bow and the script on the email page is

    {product_link}

    Im not the most savvy at this so any help would be great.

    This is a common issue, that is not the fault of eStore.

    If the link “works” on the download page, but not in the email; it might happen if the buyer’s email client or browser is not correctly rendering the link.

    What happens is, the links sent via email are sent in plain text not HTML, and are somewhat “long.” The links will usually wrap to the next line. If the buyer’s email client or browser tries, (in an effort to do them a favor) to render the text link into a clickable HTML link; the link may not be correctly rendered. You can see for yourself, by having eStore email you an encrypted test link from the Admin Functions panel. Because the link was not correctly rendered, eStore cannot “find” a valid link in the database.

    There are typically 2 ways around this:

    1. Instruct the buyers to copy/paste the complete link, from the email into the address bar of their browser.

    2. Consider using the eStore link shortening feature; by checking off the “Shorten Encrypted Download Links” option in the settings menu.
