The download link is not being delivered to buyers. I have tested using my own email number. The error log states it was delivered okay but it was not. Also the link is contained in the log report and it works fine – its just not getting delivered. (I will glady send a copy of the log to an adminstrator ) Everything else work fine. All the payment confirmation emails get delivered etc.
I use estore on a number of sites and using the same email I have retested a few to see if I can replicate the problem but all work fine. I am just seeing the problem on this one site. The problem started after I deleted out our old product and set up a new product. We only sell one product on this site .
July 23, 2012 at 1:05 pm #47651wzpModeratorAre you able to use the eStore Admin Functions page to create and email links?
July 23, 2012 at 1:15 pm #47652PeterMemberHi,
Please try what wzp suggested and the following and then let us know the results:
Please go through the following post which will give you more things to check regarding the troubleshooting of email not sent issues:
July 24, 2012 at 4:50 am #47653apcsilverMemberThanks for replies. I have read thru the links and downloaded the wp mail pluggin. The test email gets sent but again it does not turn up in the inbox. There is nothing wrong with the test email address. I run estore on many other sites and have made sucessful test purchases using the same email address. The test email was also working on the problem site until I added a new product – then I got this problem. Should I just reload estore and start again?
July 24, 2012 at 7:10 am #47654PeterMemberLet’s try to remove eStore from the equation by testing if your emails are being received from the WordPress platform.
Can you please also try the following:
Using the WordPress administration panel go to the Users menu and create a new user account.
Check “send password” and then see if the email was delivered successfully by the WordPress system.
July 24, 2012 at 8:08 am #47655apcsilverMemberThanks for this. I created a new user as suggested and I did receive the email. I used the same email address that I am using to test purchase.
Also, I did try and re-install estore completely . I deleted it. But after re-installing all the old settings were still in place. I did empty the cache after every step. Tried it twice. Dont know if this is a clue.
July 24, 2012 at 2:15 pm #47656wzpModeratorUnder “eStore –> Email Settings –> Use WordPress Mailing System” if you change whatever the current checkbox setting is, does it affect the outcome?
Also, just to clarify what you originally stated, are all other eStore (not PayPal) generated buyer/seller email messages received? And that sending an email message from the Admin Functions page does not work either?
July 25, 2012 at 1:00 am #47657apcsilverMembereStore –> Email Settings – The box “Use WordPress Mailing System” was checked. It sends all the required email messages after purchase (including the notification email to the seller) except the one to the buyer with the download link.
I have just tried unchecking the box and making a test purchase. This time is does not send the Notification Email to the Seller as well as not sending the Download link to the buyer.
I am using estore on about 15 other sites with exactly the same settings. All work fine. I think I should remove the pluggin and start over on this one effected site. Can you tell me how? As reported earlier I cant seem to remove estore.
July 25, 2012 at 4:11 am #47658PeterMemberOk so if you want to try the complete removal of eStore then do the following:
– Perform a complete DB backup of your system and save the file somewhere safe (just in case!)
– Go to the eStore’s Admin Functions Menu
– Hit the “Reset eStore Settings to Default” button
– Hit the “Remove All eStore Database Tables” button
– Deactivate and delete the eStore plugin from your WP admin panel.
Then simply reinstall the eStore plugin again and you will have a fresh blank eStore DB which you will have to populate from scratch again.
