    Hello,

    here are my details :

    a) What part of the product isn’t working?

=> The WP PDF Stamper plugin

    b) What are you trying to achieve?

=> I’m trying to generate valid download links

    c) What causes the error to show up?

=> When trying to generate a manually stamped file, the stamping works fine, but the download link is wrong. like

… where “/home/www/client/FTS/v4/” is the absolute path.

See below for extended description of the issue.

    d) What version of the plugin are you using?

    WP-E-Store v 6.5.2

    WP PDF Stamper 4.1.5

    e) Provide a link to the exact page where the problem is seen

    admin dashboard

    f) Which product you are using (example: eStore, WP Affiliate Platform, eMember, PDF Stamper etc…)?

    => See above

    g) Did you modify the plugin code?

    Nope.

    THE ISSUE :

When trying to generate a manually stamped file, the stamping works fine, but the download link is wrong. like

… where “/home/www/client/FTS/v4/” is the absolute path.

So the correct link should be

=> Up to a few days, everything worked fine.

=> I had a “expired licence” error so I made an update of WP eStore and WP PDF Stamper

=> Now the error shows up.

I’ve checked in both plugins settings, “/home/www/client/FTS/v4/” never appears anywhere in my settings : the target download directory for stamped files is “http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-pdf-stamper/stamped-files/” like it should be.

I also suspect that the error occurs on real sales (they haven’t been working since the update a few days ago, that’s why I tried to stamp manually at the first place, to check if stamping still worked : answer is “no”).

I can’t figure out why this error neither how I can fix it.

    Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the detailed description. Please do the following:

    1. Try checklist #9 from the following post:

Stamping Error Checklist – an error occurred while trying to stamp the file

    2. If the above doesn’t work then try checklist #10

Let me know if you see a difference after that.

    Hello, thanks for your reply.

=> I tried checklist #9, and got the following error message when i tried to stamp manually (using File PATH Conversion Method “method 2”).

“Error! Message: Cannot open /home/www/client/FTS/v4/wordpress/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/BGBook_Shabiller_pour_plaire.pdf ! Error Code: 1”

=> Switched back to File PATH Conversion Method default mode.

=> I then tried checklist #10 : stamp is done, but the “delivery” URL is still wrong.

What can I do next ?

Could this error be related to my server’s settings ?

Isn’t there a variable somewhere that defines my absolute path, that could have been changed somehow ?

Yep, something on your server have definitely changed which is why it is failing to get the absolution URL. I have sent you an email to get site access so I can investigate it.

Turns out that your hosting provider has set a wrong value in the $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] variable (this is one of server configuration variables of PHP that should be defined correctly).

It has the following value which is incorrect (see the double slashes after the “client”)?

    /home/www/client//FTS/v4

The correct value should be the following:

    /home/www/client/FTS/v4

Please tell them to fix this error and the plugin will work like it used to.
