I want to keep product files in a directory that is unrelated to my product site. But when customers get their download link (everything gets processed properly), they get a blank page with wording to effect that the file does not exist.
This also happens when I generate a link in the Admin area.
I’ve checked the url in the Digital Contents Detail tab and everything looks fine.
Thoughts?

March 23, 2011 at 1:09 am #30533njevicSpectatorI think I found my answer: My Automatic URL Conversion Preference was set to “Relative”.
Am I right (I’ve already changed the paths of all of my products)?
Thanks,
Nick
Gonna try Amazon S3…
March 23, 2011 at 3:12 am #30534amin007ParticipantYeah you can’t use the “Relative” option if the files are stored on a different server.
Amazon S3 is a very good option. Try it out:
March 24, 2011 at 2:41 am #30535njevicSpectatorI converted to S3, which appears to be working brilliantly; however, I do have one question about Relative vs Absolute and S3: the S3 is working with the Relative option selected – so now I’m confused since the files are clearly on another server…
Thanks,
Nick

March 24, 2011 at 10:59 am #30537wzpModeratorWhen the encrypted links are generated, if a product URI begins with as3tp:// eStoe knows that the file is on S3 and will ignore the Download Manager Related settings section. That’s why the S3 Integration settings are in their own settings section

Again, the S3 was easy to set up and works great!

May 31, 2012 at 10:51 am #30541frankieParticipantHello
I am having trouble with my Download file in that the system all works fine except the encrypted email download link comes up with “Requested File Not Found”. I have looked at the Forum and checked the file name which is HelpingOurselvesKindle.mobi and is only 1.2Mb. I can access the file via a browser using its full url.
Is the issue that it is a .mobi file which has been supplied by the client?
The page is here:

Plugin version 6.7.1 WP version 3.3.1
Thanks
Francis
