Hi,
We are using the estore plugin and have set it up to the guidelines.
Everything seems to work fine, the whole process works except the last part, which doesn’t actually create any errors.
when you click the encrypted link to download the product file, it downloads instantly and is successful although the downloaded file size is 0kb, we’ve tried it with large and small files to no avail.
we have changed the encryption settings and tried each method in there and still the same outcome.
the error log shows nothing because it seems to be working, its just that the product file is an empty folder or file.
the shop is live now and can be found here:
we have people buying products and getting this problem, leaving us two options:
– refund the purchase
– give them the direct link and reveal the location of products
if you download via direct link it is fine, so it seems it is just the estore plugin between that is creating the problem (its not a server problem with the size of the files).
please help!
we are using estore Version v4.9.9
thankyou in advance

Please Enable the debug log files, save the settings, and then reset the log files. Then use the Admin Functions page to generate an encrypted link to one of your products.
Copy the generated Download Link and paste it into the address bar of your browser, to test the encrypted link generator.
Next, go back to the General Settings page and examine the download_manager_debug.log file to ensure that no errors occurred.

Please check this checklist which should help you identify the issue:

March 28, 2011 at 11:52 pm #30652billbenbodhiMemberok,
so i’ve tried everything, there was a few file names with spaces, but we fixed that and tested on ones that were exactly how they are supposed to be with no spaces.
i then went over the checklist, performed all, and still the same…
apparently one person got a successful download at some point, but that was the only one and none have worked for anyone else or us before or after that “freak” one that did work.
i made sure the error log was running and here is a result from a test i just did-
the error that comes up is this:
8:23 AM] – Status : Unresolved DL file path = http://www.mrbillstunes.com/downloads/hardcore/cell_abrasions/cell_abrasions.zip
[03/26/2011 8:23 AM] – Status : Resolved DL file path = /home/mrbillst/public_html/downloads/hardcore/cell_abrasions/cell_abrasions.zip
[03/26/2011 8:23 AM] – Status : Dispatching DL method = 2
this was one i just did then and same outcome, 0kb!
i’m lost with what to do now.
March 29, 2011 at 12:47 am #30653wzpModeratorThe above log extract indicates that, somewhere along the line, something caused the server to terminate the download script. Otherwise, a successful download would include a DL completion status message.
There are numerous reasons, some of which are beyond your control, as to why the server is terminating the download script.
There are two options… The easy way is to use the Amazon S3 integration feature, which has been discussed in numerous forum posts, and is highly recommended. Or, we can try to figure out if your particular server issue is resolvable.
Who is your hosting provider and what kind of hosting package do you have?
March 29, 2011 at 1:54 am #30654amin007ParticipantJust to double check.. you tried the various download methods of eStore with this file?

March 29, 2011 at 2:53 am #30655billbenbodhiMemberI thought so, I just dont know what to do about it…
the hosting company is Siteground, which have been really good for the last couple of years.
the hosting account is an unlimited space and bandwidth, so I’m not sure how this would happen.
I’ll look into the amazon s3 integration, it seems we are running out of options.
March 29, 2011 at 11:18 pm #30656amin007ParticipantThe file you are downloading is 644MB so I would recommend the Amazon S3 option too. Please give that a go.
