This morning, I awoke to a series of “callback failed” messages in my inbox. At first, I thought I was being hacked, because none of the information made sense… it looked like someone was trying to fake a callback message to my site. Especially since the originating IP address was a localhost.
To make a long story short, I had used the PayPal sandbox some time ago to test some recurring payments (subscriptions). They had come up for renewal, and so the sandbox, being a replica of PayPal, did what it was supposed to do… try to make a recurring payment, to a now “live” site!
Had to recover my sandbox passwords, login and then “cancel” the recurring payments.
Thought I’d mention this, to save some others a few hours of anxiety.
LOL.. yeah good one.
Hehe, good reminder!
I have this issue too. How do I cancel the recurring payment?

Log into the sandbox as the test user and then “cancel” the subscription, the same way as if it was the real PayPal site.
