Does WP etsore specifically allow “Authorize.net DPM” payment gateway?
We wish to change the payment gate way at the site [http://highlonesometours.com] from Paypal to Authorize.net DPM.
Having a devil of a time confirming whether or not WpEstore will handle Authorize.net DPM. Yes, it handles AIM and CIM but we need DPM.
Thanks,

Why, pray tell?
October 13, 2015 at 11:00 pm #71627adminKeymasterWP eStore does not have authorize.net DPM.
October 16, 2015 at 3:34 pm #71628lkammsMemberBecause DPM keeps the burden of the transaction off the client site.
And that’s important because our host, WP Engine, is not PCI compliant.
Is there something about DPM that makes you ask that question?
Thanks,

Q: What is PCI?
A: The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that ALL companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. Essentially any merchant that has a Merchant ID (MID).
Unless you are using the Payment Gateway Bundle addon for eStore; you are not doing any local processing or storing of credit card information. Furthermore, with Authorize.net, you are essentially piggy-backing off their MID. Therefore, PCI compliance is not required.
No local processing = No server load, caused by transaction processing.

as a getaway, will Authorize.net be better than paypal for me?
thanks

an advantage in authorize.net is that i can take credit card details of clients and make the subscription by myself…
May 1, 2016 at 12:01 pm #71633wzpModeratorWhat do you mean by:
…i can take credit card details of clients and make the subscription by myself…
Lets break it down into 2 parts…
…i can take credit card details of clients…
Do you mean locally collect the CC details on your own server; instead of on the PayPal site? Using PayPal Pro and our Payment Gateway Bundle addon, you can do that:

…and make the subscription by myself…
Do you mean charge each subscriber directly every month, instead of through a recurring payments contract with PayPal? Not only is doing that more expensive, in turems of processing fees, but you assume more legal liabilities as well; plus it is “more work” for you.

as far as selling by the internet, it’s fine, but if i sell subscriptions in a public speaking event for instance, i would like to be able to distribute physical sales copies and collecting credit card details, and then entering them manually by my staff.

As long as you have the cardholder’s email address, and all the other required billing information; you could do a purchase & create a subscription “on their behalf,” by just making the purchase for them from your website. This is known as a “card not present” transaction. Almost all eCommerce purchases are “card not present” transactions.
You might also consider having a laptop at your events; setup so that people can make store transactions themselves (or with your assistance), while at the event.
