Hi Support,
Today I received two emails sent from wordpress@emoveon.com. The content of the email was:
New user registration on your site eMoveOn.com:
Username: mod55
E-mail: premtorpe@gmail.com
I looked into eMember, eStore & eAffiliates dashboard. No one purchased any product or registered as an affiliate.
Then I looked in the WP dashboard under “All Users”. I saw the user information. Under “Role” it said Administrator.
I am quite confused with this email. I had setup a Mingle forum but I had deleted the Mingle plugin sometime back as I came to know that BBPress integrates with your plugins better.
I wonder if you can shed some light on this strange eMail that I received.
Thank you.
This doesn’t look like an email which would come from eMember, eStore or WP Affiliate.
If this strange account has administrator privileges and you are not sure who set it up you are best to delete it and then change your own admin account’s password and possibly username too.
With the eMember are you using the “Automatically Create WordPress User” option?
This looks like the email from WordPress when a new WordPress user has been created.
Yes, I am using the “Automatically Create WordPress User” option.
Would this matter in any way that someone registered as an admin. as I have explained in my topic above.
Generally you don’t want other users to be able to create a WordPress user with “admin” role. Please edit eMember’s membership level and make sure the WordPress role is not set to “admin” unless you are absolutely sure you want it.
