ParticipantThe simple shopping cart doesn’t have recurring payment option. At the moment only the WP eStore can be used to create subscription buttons:

MemberI have bought the eStore, Affiliate and Membership packages and would like some advice.
I have the eStore, and would like to be able to add a purchase plus a membership that begins right away.
So say a $5 [add to cart button]
Then 3 options below:
1. $1 per month
2. $2 per quarter
3. $6 per year
Can I use [add to cart] buttons but make those amounts recurring amounts?
Also, I have tried doing something like this, but the “Recurring Billing Count” keeps defaulting to ‘0’ when I try to leave it blank.
Any advice?

ParticipantPayPal has differnt interface for handling recurring payments and normal cart/buy now payments so recurring payments cannot be added to the shopping cart.
I would create 3 different subscription buttons as follows and put them on the Membership payment page to accept the payment:
Button 1 [$6 per month]
Button 1 [$7 per quarter]
Button 1 [$11 per year]
Let me know if this helps.

MemberYes, that helps a lot. I have a related question, though. Can I use a button that does not say “subscribe” (something like “purchase and join” and still have it use the PayPal subscribe process?

MemberHi, You can use whatever button image you would like. All you need to do is specify the image URL in the “Add/Edit Products” menu of the product. The “Button Image URL” option can be found under the “Additional Product Details”.
Cheers,
Ivy

ParticipantIf the subscription button was created using the WP eStore plugin then the recurring payments will still give out the commission to the original affiliate (You can turn this feature off if you like from eStore’s “AddOn Settings” tab).
