If I have a product set up with a physical version and a digital variation, and I have a weight entered in the appropriate field, will eStore apply that same weight to the digital version when it’s purchased? Or does eStore “know” that the digital variation doesn’t have a weight? (I have to be sure my shipping comes out right.)
No, it doesn’t know that. Best option is to create a separate eStore product for the digital version if you are using weight based shipping.

Weight entered into separate product entry/ID. But still shipping cost applied. I have both physical (printed), and digital for “same” product ; and yes, they are separate product ids for physical and digital, but I still can’t get zero shipping on digital.
Have PAYPAL shipping profile checked. Entered zero shipping in digital shortcode. Doesn’t work.
