When using subscription / recurring billing, does the customer need to have a PayPal account to make it work?

In your PayPal profile you can choose what you want. You can either make it so only PayPal account holders can subscribe or you can allow clients to be able to subscribe using both options:

– Just using a Paypal account

or

– Just using a credit card.

Using eMember and eStore, if a member to my site pays for a recurring subscription using their credit card (not tied to their paypal account), how can they cancel their subscription?

I took the following info from PayPal’s website:

People who paid via a guest checkout option (no PayPal account) should contact you (the merchant) and you can cancel the subscription from your PayPal account.

Alternatively, the customer can contact PayPal directly to cancel the subscription.

Usually, a common practice is to leave some instruction for this on your “Thank You” page.
