Display Variations Price Outside of Select Form

Hi

Can anyone help me? I want to display the price of variations for my products is the following ways:

1. As the total price (not as an addition to the base price) – so variation 1 costs £x and variation 2 costs £y (not variation 2 costs £x+z)

2. I want the variation price to be displayed outside the select box in the form – so when the variation is selected the price on the page will change automatically. I am sure I can do this with a bit of javascript – I just need to know which files I should be editing.
