Digital Product Variation question on bundled items

I offer each of my products in four different digital variations (standard MPEG, widescreen MPEG, standard MOV and widescreen MOV). This works perfectly as the customer chooses the item then the file format that he needs.

My question is about bundled items. If I want to offer a collection of three or four items bundled together HOW then is the customer able to select the variation they need? What will I need to do to give them that option? Thanks.

I may have answered my own question. If I treat the collection like an entirely new product and I create new zip files each containing the collection in a specific format then I can use that for the variation. The customer could choose as usual and the zip file they download will include the whole collection. This is probably the simplest and most foolproof way you think?

Yep, when using a digital variation you can specify only one URL per variation (each variation can have one downloadable package) so zipping up the entire collection is the way to go.
