Does the CSV batch upload file support the Digital Product Variation option and if so, how would the field be filled out? I can see that there’s a ‘Variation4’ field – is this it?
I have no issues uploading digital products at all (which is great), however not being able to batch upload products without the option to specify digital variations (as I’ll be selling multiple versions of the same image under different licenses) would be very time consuming for me to do manually.
I can also see the formatting for how it would be entered manually, that’s fine. If the spreadsheet template doesn’t support this, can you advise of any other way I’d be able to add digital variation without having to manually update over 150+ product entries?March 13, 2011 at 7:16 am #30121axlimagingMember
I may have answered my own question – looking in the database I can see my custom variation added manually via the admin interface was stored in variation3July 15, 2011 at 2:33 pm #30122camsterMember
Actually I have the same question but am not skilled or confident enough to mess with the database.
I as well assumed the “variation4” column was the column for digital variation.
I imported my csv via the csv to db plugin and insted of the “variation4” column being inserted into the digital variation field it inserted it into the variation 3 field.
I thought I would be able to just cut and paste from variation 3 to the digital variation.
But when I do that I then get error messages saying the digital product URL and the thumbnail URL are incorrect?
Is there a column in the csv template I can use or I can create?

sorry last sentence isn’t clear
Is there a column in the csv template I can use or create to insert data into the digital variation field?
hope this makes senseJuly 16, 2011 at 1:07 am #30124amin007Participant
If you are following this documentation then you can use the “variation3” column to enter data into the digital variation:
The variation3 column was originally referred to as the digital variation. When a new variation was added we couldn’t change the database column names to keep backwards compatibility.
