Different level access but all members join free

I looked for a bit to find an answer to my question, but didn’t. I am building a community site that will have different membership access levels for members, and membership is monitored, but free. At this time there is no intention to build in content for paid memberships.

Example: “Property owners” have access to community news and discussions (some confidential) that will not be available to “History” members. “History” members are invited to sumbit (via detailed form) their stories or pictures to the site to help in the generation of a history of the community. A) “Property Owner” members have access to everything including the profiles of other “Property Owners”. History members only have access to the history categories and cannot view other member profiles.

I hope I am making sense. How can this be accomplished? Does your field “Free Membership Level ID:” accept more than one level ID? Thanks for your help
