Can you use a different button depending on the Membership level?

For example, we have two levels of membership:

Pay as you go: I would like the button to read Add to Cart (as it currently does) so that a link is sent when payment made. There is certain criteria — different prices — for the membership level, based on the circulation of their publication.

Unlimited Access: These people have paid a monthly membership fee so I would like to have the button read Open when they sign in.

Currently I am creating two products, one for each membership level but would like to know if it is possible to only create one product with the button changing depending on the membership criteria.

I think the following members only download addon should help you:

From the instructions I get the impression that you have to create a new button for each product you create. I would like to create a button for each membership level that could be used for any new product.

You don’t have to create new products. You can use it on your existing products. Install the addon and test it on a test site or a test page to see how it works. That way you will have a good idea if it will be usable for your scenario.

This would work but is there a way not to use a fancy shortcode? I would rather use simple download or add to cart buttons.
