I sell mp3s through my WordPress site. Some of my customers get the confirming email with the links but they can’t download the links. They get a message that says, ERROR, CAN’T DOWNLOAD, CONTACT SERVER. Then some customers don’t get the confirming email at all even after they check their spam and junk mail. Then some customers get the links and they are fine. I use the WP eStore plugin for this. We have uninstalled everything and reinstalled a couple times and no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lynn

Is that the exact message??? I don’t recognize it.
October 6, 2014 at 7:19 pm #65876shopmysongsMemberNo it’s not. It is really long and I don’t have an email saved from what my customers sent me. I had three this week that didn’t receive a confirming email with the links at all. I will check back emails but I don’t think I have one saved. This has been going on ever since the website was created. I will check with my web designer to see if she has a copy of the error message.

So, it seems that you are saying the problem only happens “some of the time.” Please go through this checklist of things to check:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/downloaded-file-size-is-0-zero-byte
Also, what kind and about what size are the files?
October 6, 2014 at 7:41 pm #65878shopmysongsMemberThis is one error meaasage that I found. And they did not download too many times. This is the first message that pops up when they go to download the first time. I will still try to find the other ERROR message.
“The secure download manager ran into a problem it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. The problem was due to the following reason: The download link (see browser address bar)has been used too many times. If you think reason is in error, please contact the site administrator”.
October 6, 2014 at 7:44 pm #65879wzpModeratorWhat do you have for the duration and number of downloads settings?
October 6, 2014 at 7:48 pm #65880shopmysongsMemberNo limit on downloads but they have 24 hours to download. That email was sent right after they bought the download. I am having my web designer see if she still has the other error message.
October 6, 2014 at 7:53 pm #65881wzpModeratorWhat specific value did you enter into the duration and download limit fields??? A “blank” does not count as “no limit.”
October 6, 2014 at 8:01 pm #65882shopmysongsMemberI have they can download within 24 hours and I do have a 2 in the number of times to download.

- Try to find out how many times they actually clicked the link.
- How large is the file that is experiencing the problem?
- Please enable the debug logs, generate/test a few test links with the Admin Functions, and then examine the Download_Manager_Debug.log file for issues.
October 6, 2014 at 10:05 pm #65884shopmysongsMemberThey clicked the link two times
The file is 2 KB
The debug is enabled and always have been
We have generated tests many times, my web designer and also myself.
I will send the error message when I get another one and hopefully you can help when I get that. I’m coming out with a new CD and can’t have this problem anymore.

Increase the number of permitted clicks to 3 or 4.
