I have had to personally send my mp3 album download to 80% of my purchasers via YouSendIt after they have emailed me saying the download does not complete (when using the eStore plugin).
I have spent 3 hours or more experimenting with tweaks and workarounds. I’ve read the FAQs on the site and in this forum. I’ve read the lengthy forum posts on the related topics in this forum. I don’t see any real solutions reached.
I currently have the downloadable box (on the product location) unchecked so that the file is not even anonymous and should download directly from my Amazon S3 server (this sucks, because the only reason I bought this plugin was to hide/protect my files).
NOne of this solves problem. When I make a “complimentary version” and structure it as a free download, it works fine. But when I try the same settings but have it purchased, it does not.
The file is only 38MB and is a zip file with no spaces in the title name.
Please HELP! This has become a time-consuming nightmare.
Here are some emails snippets from customers:
#1 – I’m not sure if it’s the spotty Wi-Fi I’m on or not, but the download was taking forever and cut out on my 3 or 4 times saying that the file was “invalid” or something like that. I’m not sure if that’s the issue you were having or not, but I haven’t been able to get the album yet…I’ve been downloading since about 11 or so and I didn’t even get 15% of the album.
#2 – hello,
when i’m trying to unzip the file it says that the archive is broken.
please help !!!!! can’t wait to ear the live.
#3 – it’s the 3rd time i tried …. unfortunately i have the same error message ….
#4 – I couldn’t get the music. I think there is no music file in the zip.
Please let me know how to download the music.
#5 – I purchased it through PayPal, got your confirm email with the link to the ZIP. I never really have issues with ZIPs but I was having an issue extracting the ZIP. Once I open the folder it seemed that there was only one track listed … and when I tried opening/extracting it gave me an error message.
These are just a few of my customer emails. Each time, I have to personally send them the file via YouSendIt…and my file is only 38MB.
Please help.

November 23, 2010 at 10:41 pm #26808wzpModerator1. Have you tried hosting the file in question on your site, instead of on Amazon S3?
2. If the file is on Amazon S3, is the file publicly readable?
3. What version of the eStore plugin are you using?
4. Under WP eStore -> Settings -> Addon Settings -> Download manager Related Settings, what do you have for “Automatic URL Conversion Preference” and “Download Method?”
November 23, 2010 at 11:36 pm #26809BobRMember1. yes, same issue. that’s why i switched to Amazon.
2. yes, they are. The same file/url works (for my customers) as a free download, but not when they purchase it for download (even though I’ve unchecked the “Downloadable” box)
3. 4.3.7
4. “Automatically Convert to Relative URL” is CHECKED and Download is “Default”
November 23, 2010 at 11:47 pm #26810wzpModeratorPlease upgrade to the latest version:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/automatic-update-request
Then, please try it again using the default settings.
If that does not work, please tey “Automatic URL Conversion Preference” to “Do Not Convert” and “Download Method” to “cURL.”
November 24, 2010 at 3:40 am #26811BobRMemberOk, did all that. Looks like I was a few updates behind.
Now I guess it’s wait and see time. Won’t know what happens until the product gets purchased again.
Thank you. I hope this works.
November 24, 2010 at 3:50 am #26812wzpModeratorYou can always try the sandbox…

Just be careful, about the caveats & warnings at the end of the article.
November 24, 2010 at 4:04 pm #26813BobRMemberUnfortunately, this new version/update, has caused my navigational menu to go haywire and all the navigation tabs bleed together!
So now, I can either have the eStore plugin installed, and no one can read my navigation, or, I can have my website function normally and no one will be able to buy my products. The other version of eStore did not do this to my navigation menu so it has to be some code in this new version.
What do I do?

November 24, 2010 at 4:06 pm #26814BobRMemberIn order to have the navigation readable on my site, the plugin must be disabled and my products look like this

November 24, 2010 at 5:12 pm #26815wzpModerator8( Amin needs to investigate, why the upgrade is affecting your site.
November 25, 2010 at 12:22 am #26816BobRMemberIs there something I need to do to help facilitate the process?
November 25, 2010 at 2:26 am #26817amin007ParticipantDid you make modifications to the plugin before? Most likely the upgrade overwrote those and causing it? Anyway, I will send you an email to get site access and take care of this.
November 25, 2010 at 2:49 am #26818BobRMemberNo modifications. Filled out the form I received via email.
November 26, 2010 at 3:15 am #26819amin007ParticipantLooks like the “Enable Lightbox effect on Images” option of eStore was causing the conflict (We have changed the lightbox library in the recent version of the plugin in an effort to make it more compact).
The lightbox option in eStore adds a Jquery library which can conflict with another plugin using a similar library.
This post explains a workaround for this:

You should be good to start testing the downloads now.
