Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › Customer receives sign up email, but on clicking link no username etc shown
Hi having a problem with sign up. My registration form doesn’t show after the unique registration completion link is clicked. I have noticed that quite a few members do not have usernames and just worked out why.
1. New member clicks on sign up.
2. Adds first, second name and email.
3. Email sent with link. Click on link.
This is where the problem is. The page that is shown does not show the username etc etc fill in boxes anymore so they don’t complete registration and can’t enter the site. Here is a sign up page
[http://www.guitarandmusicinstitute.com/join-us/registration/?member_id=43&code=1a9ad5bad0018fe0ad012419c40b64eb]
The member shows up in the database, but there is no username and they have not confirmed at this point.
Also, am I right in thinking I can manually assign usernames etc to people who have tried to sign up but did not get this last stage completed? Will they be able to enter the site if I assign then send them usernames etc.
Thanks
Ged
Hi Ged, Looks like you have protected the registration page. The registration page doesn’t need to be protected. Please unprotect it and then you will be fine.
Hi thanks for getting back and the advice. I have saved the registration page as unprotected, but I still do not get the choose username and password boxes…any other advice? I have also upgraded the emember plugin to the latest version but no luck.
It doesn’t look like the shortcode is there (or it is messed up a little). Please edit the registration page in your wordpress editor. Then go to the “Text” mode (so you can see if there are any hidden characters or anything). Now verify that you have only the following shortcode on that page:
[wp_eMember_registration]
Just thought I’d give folk an update on what the problem was. I had the Ultimate WP Filter plugin added. It was really slowing down the site and hiding the inline content for some reason… Might save some of you a hair pulling exercise somewhere down the line.
Ged
Glad to hear that you sorted it out.
