custom_msg – custom message not for still shows the default message

I have a page that only allows groups 5&6. I have a video on the page that I only want group 5 to be able to see… but I want to have a custom message.

I am using this code which i copied & pasted from this site:

[emember_protected not_for=6 custom_msg=”For Gold Members Only Join Here”]

Whenever I load the page, I still get the default “Your membership level does not have access to this content.”

Any ideas what Im doing wrong?

You actually don’t need to protect the full post if you are going to use section/partial protection. The section protection lets you protect multiple sections of the post for any membership level. Documentation reference here:

Can you unprotect that full post and then just use section protection and let me know where you struggle?
