I’m trying to have a custom URL that appears for an external page overlay so that people can copy & paste the URL in a browser and the overlay will be showing. Currently all that shows is a hashtag.

Clicking the “Implement Business Systems” you can see the page overlay working, but no URL. Is this possible with page overlays? I saw there were custom URLs for images and videos.
I’m using the external page overlay for anchor text (took the shortcode and viewed source to have it as HTML).
September 5, 2012 at 12:33 am #48982wpCommerceModeratorHi, even if you are viewing an external page in the lightbox window you are still on a different page (you are just dynamically viewing the content retrieved from an external source). So you won’t see the external page URL in the address bar.
Any content that you want to pop up with lightbox will have the same effect.

September 6, 2012 at 12:13 am #48984wpCommerceModeratorYou can’t change any URL. You are basically pulling up the content from an external page in the lightbox window.
September 9, 2012 at 6:15 pm #48985mayaf7MemberSites like Facebook & Github use HTML5 pushState to change the URL of a lightbox, so I have a hard time believing “You can’t change any URL”. It seems you should be capable of using pushState to specify a URL on a click event. My question is how can you do this with prettyPhoto through the WP Ultimate Lightbox.
Currently on the prettyPhoto website:
“From now on, every time a prettyPhoto window is opened, the url will be updated. That means that you will be able to share a link to a specific picture. Just follow this link for an example: http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/#!prettyPhoto%5Bpp_gal2%5D/0/ As usual, this feature is customizable and can be disabled if you don’t wish to use it. The setting is called “deeplinking”. A complete list of settings can be found one the documentation page.”

September 10, 2012 at 12:03 am #48986wpCommerceModeratorHi, we have temporarily disabled “deeplinking” option because some of our customers didn’t like it. It makes the URL a bit messy with hashtag.
However, we can add an option to the settings so you can enable/disable it at any time.
September 10, 2012 at 1:04 am #48987wpCommerceModeratorwe have added that option. Please do the following:
1. Deactivate and delete the currently installed version of the plugin(s).
2. Download a fresh build of the plugin(s) from here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
3. Upload and activate this version of the plugin(s).
Let me know how it goes.
September 11, 2012 at 4:33 pm #48988mayaf7MemberActivated deeplinking. When I copy & paste the URL into a new tab, the iframe doesn’t show.
September 12, 2012 at 12:43 am #48989wpCommerceModeratorHi, looks like the deeplinking option only works with
rel="prettyPhoto"
. We don’t use the default rel because it might conflict with other plugins. We will see what we can do.September 12, 2012 at 8:23 am #48990wpCommerceModeratorWe have released another update. Please update the plugin to see if it works now.
