MemberHi there, I wonder if you can help please. My reference site is:
I’ve been having an intermittent problem saving custom fields. I have tried upgrading the plugins (both eMember & custom fields). I have tried deleting and recreating the custom fields. I have deleted and recreated the custom fields database.
I’ve checked the database and it is being populated (the emembers_meta_tbl).
THE PROBLEM I’VE IDENTIFIED
After a LOT of searching and testing, I think that have discovered that the problem only arises when the user uses apostrophes.
The text that has been causing the problem is:
—
Humankind’s global awakening and enlivening. Community engagement. Women’s and girls’ leadership/empowerment. Public education.
—
I am guessing that something is going wrong with the ‘ in the words that use it and that breaks it.
So…
Do you have any ideas about how I can fix this?
Thanks in advance! It’s the only bug outstanding before we can go live so I really appreciate any advice or ideas.

I’m using v8.6.4, which I downloaded last week and think is the latest version…

MemberHi again,
I also tried downgrading in case that helped, but I get a message that the database schema is out of sync, so I don’t think that’s an option…
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Suzanne, It shouldn’t have an issue with the apostrophe in the custom field (I just tested this on my test server). I have sent you an email to get access to your site so I can investigate this.

MemberHi there,
I’ve still not received it for some reason but I did send a support email with the details for you, lovely “key master” with no name
It should be in your support inbox.
Thanks for helping me with this. It’s driving me batty!

MemberHi again,
Just a quick check in to see if you’ve had any luck with working out what the bug is and how I might resolve it.
This is the only issue that we can’t resolve and it means we can’t go live, and I’ve love to finish this project and hand it over. It’s been a long one
I know we’re in different timezones, so no stress. Just thought I’d check in.

KeymasterI didn’t find any issue with the apostrophe in the custom field. I sent you an email with my findings. Maybe there is something else causing another issue. Please reply back to my email and we can look in a new direction.
