Hi,
Currently it appears that any custom form fields will appear in both the registration form and the profile form. Is there a way (check box) so you can choose which form the custom field will appear in?
There are fields that we would like the user to be able to fill out in there profile if they choose, but do not want them as part of the registration.
Thanks
August 18, 2011 at 11:23 pm #35649adminKeymasterNo, the custom fields will show up for both the registration form and the edit profile form at the same time. We can look into it and see if we can introduce a checkbox to make it optional for the registration form.
February 25, 2012 at 11:06 am #35650hazelzMemberHi! I can see that it has been six months since this has been posted. I am having the same issue. I have some custom fields that need to appear only on the profile form, not the registration form. And others need to appear on the registration form but not on the profile form. Does a solution exist already? Thanks!
February 26, 2012 at 1:46 am #35651adminKeymasterWe don’t have a solution for this yet. This post has more explanation:
January 4, 2013 at 5:38 am #35652viralshotMemberI really need this feature now. Has this been added? If not, it’s unfortunate but I’ll have to switch to another membership plugin.
Also, are you planning on allowing paypal pro onsite client checkout in the future?
January 4, 2013 at 11:06 am #35653jerrycMemberI’d like this feature, too, please.
January 5, 2013 at 6:48 am #35654adminKeymasterWe are working on creating an addon to handle this. This addon should give the ultimate flexibility in configuring the registration forms with custom fields.
January 5, 2013 at 5:16 pm #35655jerrycMemberYou folks are fantastic! I’m so happy I chose your system to work with.
February 11, 2013 at 8:14 pm #35656creative5designsMemberAny update on when the addon for this might be available? Really need this to make this great plugin work perfectly for a site I’m working on.
February 12, 2013 at 5:44 am #35657adminKeymasterHopefully it will be ready in the next 2 to 3 weeks.
Update: This eMember addon is now ready:

August 25, 2013 at 11:41 pm #35658clearscopeParticipantWe would like to have the custom fields that we require on our registration form to not appear on the profile page.
Do we have to purchase the $30 plugin addon just to remove those custom fields from the profile page?
It seems, since you give the option of specifying which basic fields appear on the profile page, that we should also have the option of selecting whether custom fields appear there or not.
Thank you.
August 27, 2013 at 4:37 am #35659adminKeymasterFor fields that are fixed, it is manageable that way but for custom fields it require significant coding to offer that kind of flexibility. Less than 10% of our users use custom fields. That form builder addon turned out to be huge and complex so we couldn’t add it to our core plugin.
