    Hi,

    When I add a custom Field Dropdown to the registration form and make it required it doesn’t quite work as there is always a value in the box, so it doesn’t require someone registering on the site to change the value. I tried adding a non-keyed value, but it didn’t show up.

    Is there some way to add a value, such as ‘Please Select’ to the top of the dropdown field that will call the ‘Required Field’ reminder if a user does not change the value?

    Thanks

    We should be able to make some changes and add an option like that. I will get back to you once we make the changes.

    We have enhanced the drop down custom field so it shows “Select One” as the first drop down. If a drop down field is set to “required” then the user has to select one of the drop down options to be able to proceed.

    I just setup custom fields, but the default value is not showing up as “Select One.” Do we have to make some kind of changes to accomodate the new change?

    Did you choose the “Field Type” to be Dropdown List and entered the values in the “Extra Field Info” field like the following?

    1=>Option One,2=>Option Two

    Just to make sure that you updated the plugin correctly… what version number do you see for eMember in your plugins menu?

    Yeah I setup the custom fields just like that. And the version I’m using is 8.1.0. Is that not the latest one?

    Will we get automatic updates if a new update comes out or do we have to go to a URL and download it?

    This enhancement was just added to the plugin. Please get a new build of the plugin from here and you should get it:
